Doreen Continanza

Board Vice President

Doreen Continanza brings years of Board experience and community commitment to the Leading With Experience team. A former Board member from 2017–2021, Doreen returned to the Board and currently serves as Vice President of the Barnegat Township Board of Education.

Her Board experience includes governance, finance, personnel, and policy matters. She believes effective Board leadership means listening, working collaboratively, being accountable to the community, and keeping students at the center of every decision.

Doreen is passionate about raising the academic achievement of Barnegat students and wants to see Barnegat schools recognized among the top academic-performing schools in Ocean County. She believes that goal requires strong leadership, high expectations, accountability, and a continued focus on student achievement.

Richard Quelch

Barnegat Township Committee Member | Former Board Member

Richard Quelch brings experience in both local government and education to the Leading With Experience team. As a member of the Barnegat Township Committee and a former member of the Barnegat Township Board of Education, Richard understands the responsibilities involved in serving the community.

His experience in local government has given him a broad perspective on the issues facing Barnegat families and the importance of responsible decision-making, fiscal stewardship, and collaboration.

Richard believes effective Board leadership requires listening to the community, working respectfully with others, and keeping the educational needs of Barnegat students at the forefront.

Richard is proud to run alongside Doreen Continanza and Sandra Churney as Leading With Experience.

Sandra Churney

Barnegat Township Board of Education Member

Sandra Churney is serving her second term on the Barnegat Township Board of Education and brings a strong commitment to students, families, and the Barnegat community.

Sandra believes schools should remain focused on providing a strong academic education, teaching age-appropriate material, and maintaining a learning environment where parents' role in their children's education is respected.

She is passionate about ensuring that classroom instruction remains focused on education and student achievement, while keeping political and ideological agendas out of the classroom.

Sandra believes effective Board leadership means standing by your principles, listening to the community, asking difficult questions, and advocating for what you believe is in the best interests of Barnegat students and families.

Sandra is proud to run alongside Doreen Continanza and Richard Quelch as Leading With Experience.
